Sega Saturn FRAM Mod

The Sega Saturn stores all internal save data on a battery-backed SRAM chip, powered by a small CR2032 battery. The problem is that the Saturn's real-time clock drains that battery and when it dies, every save file stored on the console is lost with it.

The FRAM mod replaces the volatile SRAM chip with a Ferroelectric RAM (FRAM) chip that retains data without any battery power. Your CR2032 battery is still needed to keep the clock running, but when it eventually dies you'll only lose the date and time settings — your save files will be safe.

Compatible with: All Sega Saturn motherboard revisions.

Note: This mod will erase all existing save data during installation. We recommend backing up your saves to a cartridge before sending your console in.
