GBA IPS Install

The original Game Boy Advance shipped with a dim, unlit reflective screen that was nearly impossible to see without direct light. An IPS LCD upgrade replaces it entirely with a modern backlit display featuring vivid colors, wide viewing angles, and adjustable brightness — making your GBA playable anywhere, in any lighting condition.

Compatible with: All original Game Boy Advance models (AGB-001). Compatible with both 32-pin and 40-pin motherboard revisions. Not compatible with GBA SP or Game Boy Micro.

Captain Retro will not provide the IPS kit for this install. Handhelds have multiple choices for screen replacements, which all require different installation methods and shell replacements.

We will also install any additional mods you provide (such as a rechargeable batter or power cleaner). All included in the price.

The mod board required for this service is not included in the service price and must be sourced separately by the customer.
